As a current brand under the parent company Richemont, Vacheron Constantin is one of the oldest Swiss manufacturers of prestigious luxurious watches in the world. As an independent watchmaker, Jean-Marc Vacheron first created the company in 1755 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The company was family owned and operated until 1819 when they were in dire need of a partner to help build out the brand. Consequently, François Constantin entered in as a partner and founder, renaming the company to its current name, Vacheron Constantin. The company has a long history of ingenuity and invention within the watch making industry, being the fist company to standardize watch movements into Calibers. Vacheron Constantin has also had a number of famous owners over their long history with such big name as Napoleon Bonaparte, Pope Pius XI, Edward VIII, and Harry Truman.
Some of the most famous watches produced by Vacheron Constantin are the Malte Tourbillon Skeleton, Tribute to Great Explorers, Malte Tonneau Openworked Tourbillon, Overseas Dual Time, and of course the Patrimony Grand Taille Manual 40mm. All of their wristwatches are exquisite classic timepieces that have proven the test of time.
