As one of the oldest and most trusted luxury watch brands of Italy, Officine Panerai has created a legacy based on their superb quality diving and high-end luxury watches.
In 1860, the Italian watch manufacturer was founded by Giovanni Panerai. He started Panerai in his workshop in the flourishing city of Florence, Italy. It wasn’t until 1934 when his grandsons teamed up with Rolex S.A. to start creating super reliable diving watches for the Italian Frogmen (Italian Navy Seals). The frogmen of the Italian military division Decima Flottiglia MAS famously used Panerai watches to fight in World War II. Panerai currently maintains its headquarters in Milan, although today it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Compagnie Financière Richemont S.A. of Switzerland.
Panerai markets 4 different types of watch lines: Historic, Contemporary, Manifattura and Special Editions. Some of the most famous and popular Panerai watches are the Luminor, Luminor Chrono Daylight 44mm, Tuttonero Luminor, Radiomir, GMT Automatica Ceramica, Panerai Luminor Marina, and of course their special collaboration with Ferrari that created 2 lines called the Granturismo and Scuderia.
