This guideline will help you rate your watch

There are several parameters to look for when evaluating your watch. Watch rating is divided into 5 categories based on condition, accessories that arrive with the watch, such as papers, booklets or box sets, and service history.

The Highest Rating: A-Rated simply means that the watch is in flawless condition and has been polished very minimally. The watch has all of the appropriate boxes, booklets, tags, papers or card (stating the serial number and sometimes the model number) and sometimes even the sales receipt from where the watch was purchased from. The watch is running smoothly and has been serviced or still is under the manufacturer’s warranty.

The Second Rating: B-Rated  “B” rating means that the watch is in good condition and has been polished 3 to 5 times over it's lifetime, but its still in great condition. The watch has the papers, but missing the tags and box set. The watch is running great and has no mechanical issues. Watch has been recently serviced or reviewed by a watchmaker.

The Third Rating: C-Rated  “C” rating means that the watch has been polished between 5 to 15 times and it is in fair condition. The watch does not have the papers or tags but only the box set. The watch is running slow and needs service but can keep accurate time over a short period of time. Watch was reviewed by a watchmaker.

The Forth Rating: D-Rated “D” rating means that the watch has been polished more than 15 times and it is in poor condition. The watch is missing some vital parts such as the crown or the bezel. The watch does not have any papers, tags, booklets or receipt from the store which it was purchased at. The watch does not run and has issues to wind or function properly. Watch has not been reviewed by a watchmaker.

The Last Rating: E-Rated “E” rating means that the watch could only be used for parts and it does not function properly. The watch is missing all accessories that came with the watch including the box, tags, booklets, papers, and sales receipt. A watchmaker did not inspect the watch or review it.
